With lots of help from friend Sadie and sister Lizzy, Will was still able to teach his Thomas More summer program class yesterday while I had my second dose of chemo. It went remarkably well--well...with the usual amount of fantasticness on the teaching part but extra-remarkable on the chemo part. I am feeling well, better than I have in a long while, and feel like I am finally turning a corner with this stomach issue. Hope that makes sense :) Thank you for all your good suggestions and prayers. love

Dearest Aim,
What a great update. So glad you're feeling better - hopefully not too late for the strawberry season?
Love and hugs,
Dr. Nee
Oh Aimee, I was hoping you would feel up to posting an update -- and with good news . . .
It's good to hear that Will can go ahead with teaching at the summer program.
Love to you all,
Mary Bonifield
Rah, Rah, rah, sis boom bah! If there is anything we can do to cheer you on, we will do it (even if it means saying really ridiculous 50s and early 60s cheers). Think of us as a continuous cheering section, working in conjunction with all the wonderful Alcarezes, Thomas More friends, and Life friends.
Prayers, cheers, love, good wishes, blessings, tears, pledges, dedications, novenas--all things that work as petitions we are sending up to the Lord. Our model is George Herbert's poem about all the different ways we can look at prayer:
Prayer, the Church's banquet, Angel's age,
God's breath in man returning to his birth,
The soul in paraphrase, heart in pilgrimage,
The Christian plummet sounding heav'n and earth;
Engine against th' Almighty, sinner's tower,
Reversed thunder, Christ-side piercing spear,
The six-day's world transposing in an hour,
A kind of tune, which all things hear and fear;
Softness, and peace, and joy, and love, and bliss,
Exalted Manna, gladness of the best,
Heaven in ordinary, man well dressed,
The milky way, the bird of Paradise,
Church-bells beyond the stars heard, the soul's blood,
The land of spices; something understood.
All of these things are our prayers for your healing, and they are sent with all the love and hope and joy that we have!
All our love,
Chris and Bainard
Such great news!!!!! We can't wait to see you all. Packing as we speak. Lots of love and prayers! Kanzanians!
Hooray for good news! We really loved the pictures in the last post as well. Alex was looking at them with me and said " I think I should be friends with 'zay-vier'"
We wish so much we could be there to play and help out. Glad to hear Will has been able to stay involved with the summer program; I'm sure they are missing Aimee terribly! We are amping up the prayers for you Aimee, with a Double Great Novena starting in August-- 9 months, first Friday and Saturday masses along with a great novena prayer to the Sacred Heart and Blessed Mother! We cheer and pray along with the others! Hope your tummy holds up! Love you all
