Dear Will and Aimee, MIke and I went to Mass this morning for your intentions and for the healing power of our Lord to manifest itself in the skill of the surgeons and nurses that will care for Aimee. We'll be praying all day. Love you all. Can't wait to see you. blessings the jones family.
I heard from Will at about 3:30 p.m.(EDT). The nurse told him they were about halfway through the surgery and everything was going well. They won't be finished until about 7 p.m.
We join everyone in prayer and faith that all will go well.
Here is a second update before Will has a chance to let you know fully what has happened. I sent this out to those who have asked me to let them know about the surgery.
Thank you so much for all your prayers, good thoughts, masses, novenas, and love. Aimee is out of surgery, and the surgeon believes it was successful. According to him, the true amount of time for this surgery should originally have been set at seven hours, so this is not out of the ordinary. The surgeon says they will let her recover for a month to see if anything further needs to do be done (little satellites of cancer needing to be removed), but he is happy with the surgery.
Will has not yet been able to see Aimee because she is in recovery, but he is hoping to see her soon and will convey to her all our love and prayers. She will be in the hospital until Monday (I don't think there is any prohibition against sending her flowers, for those of you who have asked).
The overflowing of love and generosity has been a sign to us of the Holy Spirit at work in our lives. We cannot fully express our gratitude to all of you, but we will keep you in our prayers. Please continue to keep all of us in yours!
