3rd Dose

The third dose went well. I am feeling dizzy but overall very well. My parents and sister Beth came down to Connecticut with us and took the kids to the dinosaur park and swimming at the hotel. Xavier and Tilly love Connecticut now; this is fast becoming their most exciting winter yet.

One more dose to go and then scans to see where we are at and what we do from here.

So glad to hear it. You're in my prayers constantly. Sorry you all have been sick and hope nothing but great health comes your way now. It's Mardi Gras and Papa B is going down to see Mama C (known to some as Bapcia). Did you get all your Mardi Gras gear at Johnnie's? No? Boston a little short on Mardi Gras gear? We could have some special paraphernalia flown in from Louisiana ...

Lots of love -- Papa B

So glad that you're close to being done!!! Hang in there - and remember the wise Ms. Enos' words: nolite timere!!

For "Catholic Schools Week", I'm teaching the kids Gaudeamus Igitur!!!

Also glad to hear that things went well, and we surely hope that all those bugs have gone away. It's time to laissez les bons temps rouler! Get the kids to throw the mardi gras beads I sent last year. March around the house singing mardi gras mambo and sashaying with your purple, gold, and green umbrellas. Have Lizzy bake you a king cake!
We'll put the gris gris on germs, diseases, trouble, and worry! And we'll send sunshine, joy, prayers, good health, and lots and lots of love (there's an endless supply of that here ready to be shipped north).

All my love,
Chris (Mama Chris, Bapcia, whatever)

Dearest Will and Aimee...we are terrible, terrible friends!! I have thought of you of and so often and have continued to pray not being sure what is going on...all b/c I could never seem to search my email for the blog address! It sounds like things are going pretty well, and you certainly are heroic examples of God's precious infusion of hope, optimism and grace in such circumstances! So sorry to hear about the extra colds etc. (ah, the plight of a life with little children...how do they get everything twice!?). This is probably getting too long, and I don't want to violate any blogging etiquette so I'll stop myself...just know that we LOVE YOU all and you are in our prayers! Hang in there on the potty training: once Xavier gets it, it all resolves itself rather quickly and life is much easier: I'll pray Tilly gets it too!! We are well...I am very well and thankful every day for God's healing power! We are expecting our third boy in May and very excited to meet him!
I promise we will be in better touch! Love and Prayers!

Y'all, please enjoy this upcoming fat tuesday (they dont do diddly squat in France, except eat PANCAKES, how lame!) Aimee, Ive been thinking about you a lot, and Im always reminded of you when I see the Joan of Arc church and the fantastic sculpture they have in the church here. You're such a fighter and Im praying that you guys get some sunny days ahead. I showed the Frenchies a video of Louisiana jazz today, and it warmed my heart to think I came from such a lively place. So, I hope y'all can have some good ol' fashioned bon temps! Love, Cora Lou

Hola from the western plains! We send gobs and gobs of prayers and well wishes. We are wondering if, like Auntie Kate, we could get a communal Lenten prayer going? I suggest Rosary at 7:30 c.t., 8:30 e.t. I think it would be motivating to know that if I don 't say my prayers while everyone else is praying, I'm the weakest link. (So what else is new?)
But, it could be anything at any time. (No, Jess. I'm not teaching the kids Gaudeamus Igitur!Show off;) Just a thought. It was that or join a cloistered convent on the shores of the Dead Sea. And you know how picky they are about excess luggage and kids!!Let me know. XOXOXOXOXOXOXOOXOXOXo

I'm with you, Meg. Although I am sorely disappointed that you aren't teaching your kids that classic song!!!

A rosary? A Memorare? What's your poison... er, I mean, pleasure.

I'm so glad that the treatment went well. You're still in our prayers!

Hope the potty-training is going well, too. We're "enjoying" that adventure right now, too...

Ok, Jess, I know I'm deaf but you don't have to repeat things three times;-) I'm just thick. I side with the Rosary, personally. But, I was thinking that what might work best (everyones' time frame is different )is do your own thing at the same time. That way, we would be united in Prayer. But, if a Rosary at the bed time crazyes is too much, you could just say a Memorare, or whatever.
What do you think?

Dear Aimee' and Will,
Please forgive me for not having written in so long and know that you have been in my thoughts and prayers every day. That's really all. I know I'm supposed to say something clever at this point, but with Dr. M. and Mr. Shea off campus, I have to save up my good humor- whatever little I have- for the classroom. At least that still feels real.
All my love,
Deborah/Ms. E.

Dearest Aimee and Will (and little ones!

Boy, we *really* sympathize with the potty-training--Anthony was 4 before he got it (shhh--don't tell him that I told you! Now that he's in high school that information may be waaay too much too share :) ). But Nina got a week thereafter, so I don't think that Tilly will be far behind, despite her luxuriating...
Children make joyful times, don't they (even though it just seems like a lot to clean up after at the time)! They make you labor--and I know you both labor hard. But remember, it's the ones who labor that Langland, Chaucer, and even the Pearl Poet hold above all others. Hey--we're not medievalists for nothing!
We send our love and blessings to you all for health & joy--
Claire, Victor, Anthony, Nina, & Dante

Meg - I just want you to know that I'm TOTALLY with you :)

Rosary is good.

Alas, bedtime for me means when I go to bed. I have no little souls that depend upon me for baths, clothes change, brushing teeth, bedtime prayers, bedtime stories, bedtime glasses of water, bedtime questions, bedtime hugs, etc. So, I'll stick with bedtime, but I understand that your is flexible.

meg and greg said...

Petrus, it can be bedtime or a set time. I vote for a set time, like 8 pm e.t. Bedtime for me is usually whenever I fall into bed after having fallen asleep on the couch after the evening news. So lets go with a set time, like 8e.t. and eveyone say the prayer of choice. That way we can Pray together". Thanks for the "Indulgences". Happy Lent!

8pm it is then.

Prayers at eight sound great to the (Pb) Skidd's! Count us in.
Glad you're feeling better Aimee!
Love,
Kate

Prayers at 8 work for me as well. Hopefully at that point Voegelin and work on the thesis are tucked into bed and I am free for a Prayer. Love you lots Aimee. Sarah

Great job, Aimee - our prayers are with you as ever, though they will now be with you promptly at 5pm!

Have a wonderfully fat tuesday!

Love,
Katy (and all the Borse/Wilson clan...)

The downright earthiness of little angels sitting long hours on stools, deigning to produce or not, should remind us, as Hamlet said, of

"what a piece of work is a man! how noble in reason, how infinite in faculties, in form and moving how express and admirable; in action how like an angel, in apprehension how like a god! . . . and yet, to me, what is this quintessence of dust? Man delights not me---no, nor woman neither . . . ." But then there's Prospero's "we are such stuff as dreams are made on . . . ." Bringing up children is an education in yoking two unlike ideas together by violence..

You two are living life in its fullest, not waiting around for verdicts. You're a testimony to all of us, even the elder members of the clan, who thought we knew a lot about contingency. God bless you.

Adele is showing her solidarity with your cause by joining Tilly for hour long potty sitting sessions which occasionally end in the production of something foul yet strangely good. She appears to be reading but I a am convinced that she is silently willing you well.

Or maybe girls just like to hang out on the potty. I dont know but I like my first theory better.

So it begins...at 8pm, e.t. tomorrow, we can support each other in prayer. I think we should picks some intentions (maybe...a cure for Aimee, end to the war, peace in the Middle East and Holy Land, guidance of the Holy Spirit in the upcoming elections, whatever you choose). I am going to write mine out and post it on the frig (all of the above and few more) just so I don't forget. (Probably, even set the kitchen timer--and still forget;) So Happy Mardi Gras! Tomorrow, we prepare for Easter!

P.S. Any good ideas for Mardi Gras dinner and or Ash Wednesday dinner? (Hint, hint extended family?:)

I don't really have anything to say except that I want to comment on a thread that is 23 deep.

Aimee you are so awesome. I hope that your Valentine's day is extra extra special and you don't have to drop TOO MANY hints about Godiva chocolates (Borders has 'em) and Godiva even makes hot chocolate.

I'm just sayin'.
Love you guys and my walls have been spaghetti-free for far too long! Love, Mary, Andy et al.
