Next Treatment.

We met with Dr. Atkins this afternoon. He suggested the next line of attack be chemotherapy (Dacarbazine) to slow down the growth of Aimee's tumors. It would be administered in 2 doses over 6 weeks. After she completes that, he suggested 2 possible clinical trials (Anti-PD1, Anti-cd137).

First things first, though. He said Aimee needs to recover fully from the last round, put on some more weight, and get her strength back before she undergoes chemotherapy. So that's our particular task the next week or 2.

Na ahhh, when it comes to weight gain and overindulgence, we are the tops!!!!!!We can make food soo tasty and decadent, that the dairy and sugar producers in America have given us quotas as to how much we may produce in a given year. (Kraft Velveeta, midnight milk shakes, sugar cereals with whole milk, and Nutella mixed with Hersey's bars for the whole bar!)
So stay with us for two weeks of overindulgence and guarantied weight gain. We call it Midwestern hositality.

Wait...isn't it ironic that "Dr. Atkins" is telling you to gain weight? HeeHeeHee

Ladies, I think that it has been proven that *I* am the expert at weight gain :)

I propose a contest: The Cowens stay with each of us for a week, and whoever can make Aimee gain the most weight - wins :) We can even have subcategories like "total family weight gain", "most creative calories", etc.

What do you think?

Love, Jess

Well, we Louisianians have to "weigh in" with our incredibly caloriscious cuisine. There is nothing like jambalaya, crawfish etoufee, chocolate trifle, crawfish fettucini (in fact, crawfish anything). They double the calories down here, so just saying the food names makes you gain weight. And I know there is a whole boatload of Ciembronowicz's in Rockford that would love to send Polish sausage and all the fixings. Just say the word and all kinds of cuisines will descend on Somerville. Lots of love to you!
Chris and Bainard

P.S. I've put a muzzle on Bainard who keeps muttering, "We need to eat right and take vitamins."

Oh, I forgot gumbo and shrimp creole. And then there's all the different kinds of bread pudding you can have, some with chocolate sauce, others with brandy or bourbon sauce, and still others with sugar icing. I hope we got your mouth watering with all these goodies!

Love,
C. and B.

Take care and beefen up, Aim. May you both have lots of much needed rest.
I could offer Belgian chocolate, beer, waffles and friets over here if you want to swing by!

Weight gain is possible anywhere--true enough but we've got a massage therapist that makes house calls and can be persuaded to arrive here at a moments notice! Also, some of the best day spas in New England are just down the street. Top that!

PS Has Meg been drinking? I think she just offered to show you some "Western Hostility".

PPS Maybe I have been drinking. That Last post was from Me-Your sister Kate (at Cannon Street in case you want to visit.)

No, I had not been drinking. Just trying to type with a 18 month old in my lap who had erased the post twice, and was looking to do it again.
But, if drinking would help with calorie count, I'm for it!!! I read somewhere that most of medieval Europe's calories came from beer (or grog). So, warm up (or cool down) the steins and bring out the blenders and let's start the calorie count.
After all, "It's five o'clock somewhere..."
And speaking of food, I forgot to mention, corn fed beef. I would be remiss if I did not plug the local steaks. (Brother-in-law does work for Cargill you know.) Makes me want to warm up the grill right now. So, I'll take on your challenge, Petrus. I know we can get the job done. (pick us, Aimee. Pick us!!!)

I don't know about all you but I do believe that I have a corner on the weight gain market right now!! 30 pounds in a month!! Come stay with us and we'll fatten you up in no time!! Ice Cream sundays every night in West Hartford!! We'll even throw in a hotel room for you so you can lounge by the indoor pool with no fear of sun rays!!!

Talk to you soon!
love,
Betty and Chris

Now Betty's drinking with her daily ice cream "sundays"!! LOL.

Also Betty: When you're pregnant you only get to claim HALF of the weight gain because the baby gets the other half. So, you've only gained 15 pounds in one month :)

I think that to be the expert you have to have demonstrated a consistent ability to gain weight. Sorry, one little splurge doesn't count.

I have to admit, Chris & Bainard's menu does sound the best, and the most fattening!!!!

All right Betty and Chris, the Sanders defer to you. We can't gain that much, nor do we have a hotel or pool. (We feel like we run a hotel sometimes and the landryroom floor looks like a pool sometimes...but we fixed that waterline). And as to all the Cowan family's offerings of southern cooking, we defer to them also. If it doesn't involve a pound of ground something, a can of cream of something, and a cup of some rice, you can't call it dinner, here in the Plains. But, if Aimee and Will don't take you up, we'll come! All sounds tasty!

Forget about Aimee gaining weight... Just reading all these posts has made me gain like ten pounds. There is always an open offer here in Fitchburg too!! Although i am tempted to go to everyone elses houses with all these menus.
Glad you are feeling better

love Jo

OK Aimee and Will, who wins our competetive family feeding frenzy? We need to know so I can start cleaning the guest bedroom (a.k.a. Bridget and Becca's room--with the walkout the bedroom door view). Ask Magnus and Joe, we ain't fancy, but we sure are interesting. Love ya, Meg

We are definitely going to time share between everyone--how could we turn down such delicious offers? Thanks for thinking of us everybody.

How is the healing going? Steal any of Betty's poundage lately? Hoping all is well.:)
Praying for success!)

Hello Aimee and Will, I'm sure you get lots of ideas passed along but this one really seems like it would be worth looking into. And its in Seattle so you could stay with us as long as necessary.
