Reprieve
The hospital called late this afternoon and said that due to some summer nursing shortage emergency, I get to stay home for an extra day. I didn't really question the logistics of it all (I guess I'm high maintenance!) but gladly accepted the extra catch-up day. So my next set of treatments won't start until Tuesday morning. Until then, if you need me, look by the kiddie pool on the back porch. The kids and I will be swaddled up in the shade enjoying these quiet August days while they last...

Aimee,
Horray for an extra day. Sending so much love. Can't wait to see you whenever that happens next. You're amazing.
Hilary
Great, now you'll have time to put the extra coat of nail polish on before spa treatments. Now, are you using your extra time to clean out the "birthday, anniversary, Mother's day, etc..." cards that have stacked up. Good girl, Mamie would be proud. Now get on those photo albums. LOL and XOXOXOXOXOXO
Dear Aimee and Will,
Here it is, i:15 AM and I'm thinking of you again. I've been using up that stockpile of prayers I told you about-morning, noon and night. I find myself thinking of you and worrying about you at least that often(once a mother, always a mother!). So, at three prayers a day, that figures out to 5,475 prayers a year. Should do the trick- I haven't asked for much else.
I've therefore decided that we should make a date for May of 2012 to celebrate- 5 years for you and 10 for me. We'll do the Four Seasons, unless you'd rather go somewhere else-my treat.
Love,
Deborah (Ms. E.)
Buckets of prayers as you jump in again to treatment. We love you. We are praying like crazy that all goes well this round and you never have to see "those people at the hospital again" (no offence intended). LOL XOXOXOXOXOXOXOX
Good luck this week! We're all praying for you!
dear aimee,
i've never met you but looking throught the new UD album tonight saw many pictures of the lovely cowans. for some reason that sent my down to check on you. what a tremendous family - may their strength be your strength. much love from annmarie flynn kelly, seattle wa.
PS my niece Kate Louise Cavanaugh (age 6) was named for dr. louise. yesterday she chastized my 4 year old dominic for saying "Jeeze-Louise" finding it highly insulting.
Prayers and love come winging your way as you begin this next round.
May all the angels and saints be at your side fighting this disease along with you. May the Blessed Mother hold your hand and wipe your brow in the difficult moments. And may her Son touch you with His healing hand so you will be well and whole, so all shall be well (and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well).
All our love and prayers,
Chris and Bainard
